I have one ecommerce website, say .example.co.uk (targeting for UK visitors) and it has PR 6 at the moment.
I really wondered why I am not getting any good ranking for my site. My site has a good number of back links and my competitor site has lesser back links, but still I wonder why they are getting good ranking and why not for me, they also have a PR 6.
Is it related to something difference for SEO for international website?
OR my product page has quality back links than my home page. Will it make any difference?
If have PR 6 and good quality backlines why my site is not having a rank in google.co.uk search?. But my competitor’s site PR 6 and lesser back links than my site, they have rank on 1st page of Google search.

Any SEO Experts can give a valuable info???

Hello Ben are you sure you have high quality backlinks ? also your website is SEO optimized ? I mean have sitemap,seo friendly url's ?,correct titles,and page description?,also Tags are important for SEO.

Are you using google webmaster tools ?

Yes , my site is fully SEO On site Optimized. all titles, meta desc everything updated and up-to-date, I have a sitemap already . webmaster is configured very well..

everything is perfect. just wondering my traffic to site is so poor. PR6 Achieved with all this SEO Work. but not result for keyword ranking

I am sure there is no relation of PR with ranking ... but still as i have PR 6 at least my website keywords should have a ranking for minimum 6th page...

BTW i want to update that i bought some paid links... will it cause problem... but i can prove that my competitor also buying links, but still he is 1st page for ranking

any one can let me know any idea or experience why?

I think you have to go for some short of "Off page optimization" as well because from that you will get traffic from different domain not only from the search engines.

How old is the domain? Domain age plays a role in determining PR of a website. It could also mean that your site hasn't been indexed and crawled yet so you still don't have backlinks. What's your site URL btw?

When you are saying good inbound link, are you getting the links from websites with similar category of your product?

The next steps you can evaluated is your Keywords. May be you are using very competitive keywords because of which you are not able to make it in SERP.

After keywords comes the content. You should regularly update your content.

Other thing can be, your competitor may be active in Social Networking and bringing traffic from other sources than organic traffic.
